Very fun to grow, invest, etc.
A couple of things I noticed:
1) Was there any debt service (interest + principal payments)? It seemed like the total grew unabated and I never ran the risk of going negative. Edit: Yes there is (I borrowed $500 and the payment was $-4 per month. Rate not realistic for an unsecuritized loan.
2) Investing in the companies is interesting but there wasnt much risk/reward. It just seemed like number go up. I think the bones are there for systemic risks to industries, etc. Turn over at the companies, price risks, competitor risks, etc. would be interesting.
3) I wasnt able to go in and borrow against the value of my stock so it was limiting to go directly into that rather than one of the cash generating businesses.
4) The real estate section could use some fleshing out because right now it's just an appreciating asset with no costs (that I could tell) no information about the revenue. There could be various ways to provide risk: Leasing risk, commissions, improvements, vacancy/credit loss, etc. Different verticals (SFH, multifamily, office, industrial, etc). Ability to redevelop. I couldnt tell if there was cyclicality to the re market as well - low rent = cool -> gentrify -> over price -> bust.
The bones are there for this to be really cool and flesh things out between business/stock/re investments.
Seeing P/L and balance sheets for all of the businesses and re investments would be great.
Looking forward to seeing the progress!
I was able to (before hitting play): take out debt -> buy businesses -> take out more debt (because income went up) -> buy more businesses -> take out more debt -> upgrade everything -> more debt -> buy real estate -> more debt -> buy stock. I fully expanded all business lines, 1 waterfront 3 commercial, 16 tech 1 motors all before hitting play. $50,253 debt for $2,090/mo income. I progressively got more debt and dumped it into Waterfront property ending up with 7 commercial, 236 waterfront.
